Recruitment Consultant (Resourcer) — UK Healthcare, Permanent GP Recruitment | Offshore RPO Delivery Team
Join a UK healthcare recruitment agency as it grows its offshore delivery team in Colombo. This is an RPO/BPO-style role: you'll work UK hours with a UK manager, recruiting on behalf of our UK agency and its clients, filling live GP vacancies for practices and hospitals across the UK, and earning commission on every placement.
Who we are
MedMatch is a specialist UK recruitment consultancy that has been placing doctors for over 12 years. GP practices, hospitals and private and NHS healthcare providers pay us a fee to find and place the doctors they need. Around 95% of our work is permanent recruitment of GPs and consultants — high-value, hard-to-find professionals in a market with more vacancies than candidates. We have a UK team of around 20 consultants, a large established candidate database, a full recruitment CRM and a dedicated compliance team.
We have already built the first seat of our offshore recruitment team in Colombo. Our first consultant has been with us six months and is placing consistently. We are hiring the next consultant now and plan to grow the Colombo delivery team to 8–10 people over the next 12–18 months, so this is a role — and a team — with a real future.
The role
You'll work as an offshore resourcer for our UK business, reporting to Rory, our UK manager with over eight years in healthcare recruitment. Rory collects live vacancies from our UK client base — mainly salaried GP roles across the UK — and brings them to you. Your job is to find, qualify and place the candidates:
- Calling through our established candidate database
- Writing adverts and using job-board and LinkedIn credits
- Targeted emails, mailshots and referrals; approaching doctors directly
- Running a proper qualifying call with every candidate and logging it in the CRM
- Matching candidates to the right vacancy and managing them through interview with Rory
Rory handles the client conversations, so you can learn the sector safely. It's an outbound, phone-heavy, organised role: several roles on your desk at once, several pipelines running, and a commission on every placement.
Training and progression
You'll start with structured modules on the NHS, UK primary care and the GP role, plus qualifying-call training with recorded calls and coaching. The first six months are 100% candidate-side, with a target of 2–3 placements a month by month six. From there, a move towards client-side (360) work is available for those who excel.
Who we're looking for
- Experience with a commercial recruitment agency, RPO provider or recruitment BPO, filling clients' vacancies — any sector, any geography. This is essential. In-house talent acquisition alone is not the same discipline.
- Experience delivering for overseas clients (UK, Australia, US, Middle East) from Sri Lanka is a strong advantage
- Permanent recruitment ideally; resourcer / 180 / candidate-side / delivery consultant experience is perfect
- Clear, confident spoken English — most of your day is on the phone with UK doctors
- Organised, proactive and comfortable working to targets
- Someone who wants to specialise and build a career, not sample sectors
Healthcare experience is not required — we train it. Recruitment experience is required.

- Full-time, based in our Colombo office, working UK hours on a rotating shift pattern: 8am–5pm, 9am–6pm or 10am–7pm UK time (roughly 1.30pm–10.30pm to 3.30pm–12.30am Colombo, depending on the time of year)
Interview is two stages by video: first with Jack (Director), then with Rory (line manager).
