Marketing & Business Development Representative
SLsend is a growing international marketplace connecting Sri Lankan sellers — tea makers, spice growers, gem dealers, artisans — with buyers all over the world. We're building the platform that brings authentic Sri Lankan products to a global audience, and we're looking for driven people to help us grow, right here on the ground.
This isn't a flyer-handing job. We're looking for someone who can genuinely think — who can find sellers worth bringing on board, spot opportunities we haven't thought of, and come up with creative ways to reach both partners and customers.
What you'll be doing:
- Reaching out to potential sellers — local shops, producers, artisans — and bringing them onto SLsend
- Coming up with your own ideas and strategies to find partners and customers, not just following a script
- Representing SLsend in your community, building real relationships
- Some on-the-ground promotion (yes, that includes flyers and local outreach) — but that's the starting point, not the whole job
Who we're looking for:
- Someone with initiative — you don't wait to be told what to do next
- Comfortable talking to people, building trust, and closing a conversation with a "yes"
- Bonus points if you already know local business owners or sellers in your area
- Fluent in Sinhala/Tamil, good working English is a plus
Compensation:
- Fixed base salary
- Plus commission for every seller you successfully bring onto the platform — the more partners you bring, the more you earn. No cap.
