You will be directly attached to the Green Electric Solar team, working on the frontlines of the nation's renewable energy transition.
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, safety-conscious Solar Electric Technician with one year of practical experience to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. Working under Green Electric Solar, you will handle installation, cabling, maintenance, and system testing for residential, commercial, and industrial projects across Sri Lanka.
Key Responsibilities
- Install solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, and battery systems according to engineering standards and technical layouts.
- Run AC/DC wiring, conduit, and trunking, ensuring strict compliance with CEB, LECO, and local electrical regulations.
- Assist senior engineers with system commissioning, testing, and grid connection setup.
- Perform preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, string testing, and solar panel cleaning on existing sites.
- Maintain strict adherence to site safety policies (PPE, harness safety, and high-altitude precautions).
- Keep accurate records of completed site work, tools, and materials used.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: NVQ Level 3/4 in Electrical Installation, Renewable Energy, or an equivalent diploma/certificate from a recognized vocational institute (e.g., NAITA, VTA, German Tech).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in solar PV installations or general electrical work.
- Extra Qualification: Valid Sri Lankan Riding or Driving License (Class A/A1 or B) is highly valued for field mobility across site locations.
- Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of string/hybrid inverters and PV racking systems.
- Proficiency in using digital multimeters, clamp meters, and standard hand tools.
- Ability to read basic electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs).
- Physical Demands: Comfortable working at heights on residential and commercial rooftops.
